WSOP CHAMP AND SWEETHEART OF THE GAME

Cyndy Violette was born in Queens, NY. Her family relocated to Las Vegas when she was 12 years old. As a child, Cyndy loved to play cards on the kitchen table with her Uncle Ross. The first time she tested out her skills in a casino was when she was already an adult and was pregnant with her daughter, Shannon.

After short stints dealing blackjack and poker in Las Vegas, Cyndy went to a Lake Tahoe Poker tournament in 1984. She built a small bankroll at the tournament which was all the proof she needed to make the decision to make Poker her profession of choice. Before long she had won a Golden Nugget tournament (7 stud, $74,000, the most money ever won by a woman up until that time), and was featured in a "Playboy magazine" article. It was during this time when she was the subject of many other articles and tv shows, she met and was swept off her feet by her second husband. Being a wife caused her to take a hiatus from poker for two years.

On a trip to Caesars Palace in 1990 Cyndy just could not resist entering a Poker tournament there. She won it and took home the $62,000 prize. She was hooked again. One paper's headline stated that she was back -- with a "Poker Vengeance!" She realized that she had a deep, and never ending love for the game. Soon, while still maintaining her residence in Washington State, she found herself spending much of her time at the tables in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

After getting divorced in 1993, Cyndy heard they were legalizing poker in Atlantic City. Violette with her East Coast roots decided to check it out there. She spent the summer living at the Taj Majal Hotel and Casino, and come Spring of 1994 decided to set up shop there. She bought a house in the Atlantic City area and has kept it as her personal haven. A place that could be a permanent home for herself for her many books, transformational tapes. A sanctuary where she could relax and enjoy her life and pursue her passion for healthy vegetarian cooking.

In 2004 Cyndy achieved one of her dreams. She won the 7 card stud high-low tournament of the World Series of Poker. She is proud of her World Series bracelet and the title as Poker champion.

In the 2005 World Series of Poker Tournament she made three final tables, and six cashes total. She has been featured on "The Superstars of Poker" on Fox Sports Net, "Poker Royale Pro/Celebrity Tournament" on the Game Show Network, and the World Series of Poker Tournament on ESPN. She is currently creating a "Positive Poker Affirmations" CD.

Cyndy is quite unlike the stereotypical poker player that comes into most people's mind when they think of the tough, hard nosed ,"No Limit Hold'em" players of the game. She's knows that "Women in Poker" are sometimes referred to as "Poker Babes", and that there will always be some male players that wish the "girls" would "just go away" -- but she doesn't care. Poker is her life - and she "Loves Poker and Loves Life." She may come across as a "bubbly little blondie", with the "big smile and twinkling eyes" - but she can hold her own with the crustiest, shiftiest, and most hardcore of professional poker players. She is a seasoned pro who has been playing poker for most of her life.

Cyndy is one of the few women poker players that was in it long before it became fashionable to do so. She grew up playing cards and has split time between Atlantic City and Las Vegas for many years. She is a bonafide "World Series of Poker champion bracelet winner", and she did it before the game became "all the rage" the world over. Cyndy's game mixes a great combination of affability, perceptiveness, experience and spirituality, as well as good ol' "guts and daring". All of these qualities make her one of the most popular, in-demand, players on the tours today. She knows her cards, and has worked both sides of the table. She was a black jack dealer in Las Vegas during the 80's, and all this helps her awareness and ability to read the other players at the table. Cyndy feels that being a woman poker player is neither an advantage or a disadvantage. She concentrates on just being the best she can be. She lives a healthy life and works to keep her body and mind at optimum performance levels. Certainly one of the more spiritual players on the circuit, Cyndy spends much of her non-playing time working to improve her life and lifestyle. Cyndy is an avid reader -- from Kabbalah, Feng Shui, to Awareness, and Self Realization studies. Cyndy loves exploring the metaphysical side of life. Positive thinking and visualation are very important to her game. She spends most of her time living in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, where she regularly plays in cash games and attends most of the major tournaments while working on her line of Poker oriented clothing and inspirational items..
